Instead of menus, forms, and pages full of clicks — what if you could have a conversation with the website you're on? Read more about the reasoning behind this experiment.
Website MCP proxy is a single MCP extension that can communicate with many other MCP servers without installing them.
This tool is in early stage (as the MCP protocol is) and experimental.
Currently we offer a solution for Claude Desktop. If you have the latest version of Claude Desktop, you can install Website MCP proxy very easily.
Click on downloaded file to install the proxy in Claude Desktop. Read more about desktop extensions. Please take in mind that the extended functionality (dynamic tools) is often broken on the Claude Desktop side and of course our code is buggy, too.
After installation, ask Claude what you can do with it.You may for example connect this web (undefuned.com) and then ask what we do and who we are, or send us a message.
Please, send us feedback or bugs. Or — even better — once connected to this site via Claude with the website proxy, you can use Claude chat to send us a message, feedback, ideas, or anything.
Claude Desktop is probably the most widely used AI agent with a chat-like interface focused on people (not engineers) that supports the MCP protocol.
If you want to install Website MCP proxy with other MCP-compatible clients (VSCode, Windsurf, Cursor and others), you can extract the .dxt file (it is zip format) and use script and info presented there. We'll publish instructions and source code soon.
There are and probably will be similar methods (e.g., ChatGPT "Actions") to accomplish what we want to do. Simplicity and Claude Desktop's user-friendliness currently meet our requirements best. We're keeping track of other technologies and will explore them.
But we believe that the core potential here is NOT the technology itself, but the way we will be able to interact with websites, data, and services. The technology, protocol or this tool proxy are just enablers.
It depends on what you want to accomplish. Most websites are information sources — what you do, what you offer, etc. Like this website - it is simple. Often there's a "write us a message" form, maybe "register for newsletter". Even such websites can benefit greatly from having an MCP interface.
But you still need to have an MCP server. We're working on Simple MCP server hosting. It's in development, but you can join the waitlist there. It's free for now.
We offer consulting or development of a custom MCP solution for your organization. This can be as simple as explaining the technology and discussing what’s possible in your specific case.
Sure, it’s early days — but for some scenarios, especially internal tools, the benefits can already be significant.
Call or write us if you’re interested.
